PERFORMATIVE GREENHOUSE

Noun [ *k ɑ s ] a work of art shared with performance artists. The greenhouse provides the opportunity to let art germinate in a protected atmosphere.

The Performative Greenhouse is an artwork built by Lío Spinnewijn in collaboration with Buitenplaats Brienenoord. The greenhouse is built on wheels, has a solar panel roof, and consists of forty windows, each individually operable. The greenhouse lacks a door. These playful features of the artwork serve, on the one hand, for the greenhouse to function as a growth/blooming place for plants, and on the other hand, to be a performative rooting space.
